How has it been three months since I did one of these?
Time flies when you’re writing a book and don’t really know what day it is most of the time!

I took two trips to the Manitoba Archives, going through boxes of ninety year old documents and collecting photographs for the book. They close for an hour at lunch, so I played tourist and walked over to the Manitoba Legislature grounds.

I attended the Lac du Bonnet & District Historical Society’s aviation history event on June 22. Twenty-five people turned up on the stormy afternoon for the photo slideshow and stories from Gerald Sarapu. I also got a few more stories and contacts for the book.

Otherwise, it’s been a daze of writing chapters, picking pictures and starting page layout drafts. I’ve been working on this book for ten months, and, with six months to go before my deadline, it’s finally starting to feel like I’m not always behind!
