From the Writer’s Desk: Aviation
December 2024 & January 2025 – Research, Research & More Research
February 5, 2025
Things are finally starting to happen!
In December, before I took a break for the holidays, I submitted two aviation themed feature articles for the 2025 Lac du Bonnet Living magazine. They are set to release in May.
Then I picked up where I left off in January and spent this month almost entirely on research.

I connected with some aviation companies and families, along with individuals who are (or were) pilots or mechanics. They’ve started sharing their stories and photos, answering my questions, etc.
Otherwise, I sifted through online newspaper records. Traced threads of information to piece together a timeline for the airport. Gathering everything I can to get the whole picture of these last 100 Years of Lac du Bonnet aviation.

Merlin is the best research assistant. When he thinks I’ve been at my desk too long, he’s insistent that I go outside for some winter air and sunshine!
