Looking Ahead to 2024

January 19, 2024

2024 follows my best writing year yet: five fiction short stories printed in Dragon Soul Press anthologies and one historical non-fiction published through the Winnipeg River Heritage Museum and three more Window on Our Past history articles.

2023: A Good Year for Writing

I started 2024 by giving my website a fresh, new look. This updated design allows me to better organize the vast collection of history articles and growing number of books, while also showcasing my love for nature photography.

My goal for the year is to carry on the momentum I gathered in 2023. So far, 2024 is shaping up to be a good writing year.

There are a couple projects in the works with the Lac du Bonnet & District Historical Society.

I have more history articles in various stages: planned, partially researched, drafted or ready for submission. The topics range from general Lac du Bonnet history to the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway through Northwestern Ontario and Southeastern Manitoba, and maybe even some stories from the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Hopefully, I’ll even have time to work on my Lac du Bonnet aviation history book.

I also have my eye on a number of anthology calls for fiction stories, with deadlines throughout the year. We’ll see if I can meet those deadlines with everything else that’s going on…

It’s just a few weeks in January, but I’m already off to a good start!
